WASHINGTON – Rep. Susie Lee released the following statement after voting to advance the Fiscal Year 2023 Energy, Water, and Related Agencies appropriations bill: “Since day one of serving on the Appropriations Committee, I’ve fought tooth and nail to ensure that not a dime goes to Yucca Mountain,” said Rep. Susie Lee.

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Susie Lee, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, voted to pass the fiscal year 2023 Legislative Branch funding bill out of the full Appropriations Committee. The bill includes multiple provisions that Rep. Lee has pushed for, including additional funding to support the Capitol Police and investments to expand congressional employment opportunities for veterans, members of Gold Star Families, and young people from all backgrounds and walks of life. 

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Susie Lee announced that she secured the inclusion of $3 million for Southern Nevada Water Authority’s (SNWA) Septic Conversion Program in the Fiscal Year 2023 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies appropriations bill. This program helps southern Nevada homeowners transition from septic systems to municipal sewer systems.

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) voted to pass new bipartisan legislation to lower the cost of food and fuel. The Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act will help bring down prices for Nevadans from the grocery aisle to the gas pump by lowering industry input costs and supporting American farmers.

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Susie Lee announced that she secured the inclusion of $350,000 for the Clark County Small Business Opportunity Program in the Fiscal Year 2023 Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) appropriations bill. This project would expand and upgrade the Clark County Small Business Opportunity Program (SBOP), a long-standing county program that helps small business owners increase their capacity to compete for government contracts.

WASHINGTON – The Office of Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) is excited to announce that Rep. Lee is hosting a Congressional App Challenge (CAC), an app competition for middle and high school students. The Challenge’s submission portal is now open. Students can register and submit their applications until November 1st, 2022. 

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass a Financial Services package that included Rep. Susie Lee’s amendment to address the housing affordability crisis in southern Nevada and across the country. Rep. Lee’s amendment would direct the Department of the Treasury and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to combat the housing crisis in America by creating an interagency working group

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) voted to pass the bipartisan Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (RAWA), legislation that will amend the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Act to provide states, territories, and Tribes with additional federal funding to manage fish and wildlife species of greatest conservation need. In passing RAWA, Rep. Lee voted to secure more than $25 million per year for Nevada.
