WASHINGTON – In today’s hearing for the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies on Military Privatized Family Housing Oversight, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) advocated for increased transparency and military housing improvements, and questioned Brian Stann, President/CEO for Hunt Military Communities, which oversees the privatized family housing at ellis Air Force Base. She also directed questions to Patricia Coury, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Housing.

Tony Gonzales (R-TX) introduced the Communities Serving Schools Act, which would provide grants to state and local education agencies for wrap-around services that assist students outside the classroom with their health, well-being, and growth. Before being elected to Congress, Rep. Lee spent more than two decades working with Nevada students to help them succeed in their lives both on and off of campus.

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) voted to pass landmark legislation to deliver lower insulin costs for Nevada families. By capping out-of-pocket expenses, the Affordable Insulin Now Act will ensure that Nevada families pay no more than $35 for a monthly supply of insulin.

WASHINGTON — Today, Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) announced nearly $25 million to help working families in Nevada make their homes more energy efficient, while lowering utility bills. This funding will be available through the expanded Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) funding, made possible by the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which Rep. Lee helped negotiate as a member of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.

Susie Lee (NV-03) sent a letter to President Joe Biden voicing her concerns about how the Department of Veterans Affairs’ proposed closure of the Rural Outreach Clinic in Laughlin might impact veterans in southern Nevada. Rep. Lee urged the president to refrain from implementing any recommendations that could reduce veterans’ access to health care and to ensure that their care won’t be interrupted by proposed changes.
