Washington D.C. - Today, Reps. Susie Lee (NV-03), Abby Finkenauer (IA-01), Frederica Wilson (FL-24), Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11), and Rodney Davis (IL-13) introduced the bipartisan Protecting Access to Student Transcripts (PAST) Act to prevent higher education institutions from withholding transcripts from students who have defaulted on their student loans.

Washington, DC - Today, the House adopted three amendments introduced and supported by Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), all of which will improve veteran health care by ensuring that Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DOD) Interagency Program Office implement an effective Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, so our veterans can get the health care they deserve.

Washington, DC - Late last night, Rep. Susie Lee's (NV-03) amendment to address gambling addiction among servicemembers was adopted by the House as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This amendment would require the Department of Defense to formally categorize gambling addiction as a behavioral health disorder, requiring the DOD to treat gambling disorders the same way they treat mental health and substance abuse disorders. Rep. Lee introduced the Gambling Addiction Prevention (GAP) Act yesterday, with this amendment included as a provision.

Washington, DC - Today, Rep. Susie Lee introduced the Gambling Addiction Prevention (GAP) Act of 2019 to address and treat gambling addiction among U.S. military servicemembers. This bill would require the Department of Defense (DOD) to create and implement programs to treat problem gambling, particularly on military bases.

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.), the Ranking Member of the Committee on Veterans' Affairs, Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.), and Rep. Susie Lee (D-Nev.), the Chairwoman of the Committee on Veterans' Affairs Subcommittee on Technology Modernization, introduced H.R. 3535, the GI Bill Work Study Improvement Act of 2019. The bill would improve the timeliness of payments to veterans and other students through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) work-study program.

Washington, DC—Today, Representatives Susie Lee (NV-03) and Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) introduced the Preventing Risky Operations from Threatening the Education and Career Trajectories of Students Act of 2019 (PROTECT Students Act). This bill would protect students from predatory higher education institutions that take advantage of students--including veterans--by using fraudulent and misleading practices that leave students saddled with debt and an often unsatisfactory or incomplete education.
