Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) sent a letter dated Apr. 7, 2020, to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Jovita Carranza and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin regarding SBA's newly enacted Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). This program was enacted to provide relief to small businesses to allow them to keep employees on payroll while non-essential businesses remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — U.S. Congresswoman Susie Lee sent a letter on Apr. 7 to U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Jovita Carranza and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin regarding SBA's newly enacted Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), requesting it also include gaming small businesses.
This program was enacted to provide relief to small businesses to allow them to keep employees on payroll while non-essential businesses remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Congresswoman says they failed to include gaming small businesses.
WASHINGTON — Democratic lawmakers want to prioritize food insecurity in the next round of COVID-19 relief legislation.

Future federal coronavirus relief packages should focus on places like Nevada where the economic damage will be outsized regardless of the actual number of COVID-19 cases, said Rep. Susie Lee during a live-streamed event on Monday.

"There's no doubt that Laughlin has been hit hard by the economic shockwaves of the COVID-19 pandemic, making the closure of Aldape's even more difficult to bear," Lee said. "For many residents without easy access to transportation, Aldape's closure means having to find a way to get across the river to purchase basic necessities."
