WASHINGTON – Today, Reps. Susie Lee (NV-03) and Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) introduced the Community-Based Workforce Development Act. This legislation would authorize a new federal grant program — the Sectoral Employment through Career Training for Occupational Readiness, or SECTOR, Program — to assist state and local workforce systems with establishing partnerships that bring employers, educators, and workers together to train workers for in-demand jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives to urge her colleagues in the Senate to pass legislation to protect a woman’s right to choose by codifying Roe v. Wade into law. Rep. Lee has been a fierce advocate for reproductive rights and voted to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act out of the House last fall.

WASHINGTON – This week, The Lugar Center and the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University released a new bipartisan index report that named U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) as the 10th most bipartisan member out of 435 members of the House of Representatives. The Bipartisan Index measures how often a member of Congress introduces bills that attract co-sponsors from the other party, and how often they in turn co-sponsor a bill introduced from across the aisle

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) announced that NeighborWorks America, a congressionally chartered non-profit organization, has awarded Nevada HAND $517,000 in Fiscal Year 2022 grant funding. This funding will support Nevada HAND’s efforts to develop and preserve affordable housing as well as revitalize and sustain neighborhoods in Nevada.

WASHINGTON – In today’s Fiscal Year 2023 Department of the Interior (DOI) budget hearing for the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies, Rep. Susie Lee directed questions to Interior Secretary Deb Haaland. Rep. Lee questioned Secretary Haaland on steps being taken by DOI to advance and appropriately site renewable energy projects on public lands and emphasized the importance of creating a cleaner energy grid to combat climate change.

WASHINGTON – In today’s hearing for the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water and Related Agencies, Rep. Susie Lee advocated for rapid deployment of bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act funds for western water. Rep. Lee also spoke to the need for additional funding to implement drought contingency plans and to improve water levels at Lake Mead.
