WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) announced that the Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) has awarded the Nevada System of Higher Education $1,249,964 in Community Policing Development (CPD) funding to make the University Police Department, which serves Nevada’s state-funded university system, the National De-escalation Training Center in the western region. The City of North Las Vegas also received $162,900 in CPD funding.

LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP), and Congresswoman Susie Lee (D-NV) toured the First Person Care Clinic in Henderson and discussed their Maximizing Outcomes through Better Investments in Lifesaving Equipment for (MOBILE) Health Care Act and other efforts to increase access to quality, affordable health care in Nevada, especially in rural and historically underserved communities.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) announced that the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has awarded First Person Care Clinic, a non-profit organization that provides medical care services in southern Nevada, $561,501 in funding from the American Rescue Plan (ARP). This award will help support the construction, expansion, and other capital improvements to expand the clinic’s health care infrastructure and bring essential health care to more Nevadans.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has granted Fibroplate, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company located in Nevada’s Third District, a Small Business Innovation Research Grant (SBIR) of $246,634. This grant will help fund the company’s research project, which will explore how medical professionals can accelerate bone healing in the elderly.

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) voted to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, a bill that would guarantee the right for patients to access abortion care and providers to provide abortion services, free from medically unnecessary and dangerous restrictions. The passage of the Women’s Health Protection Act comes on the heels of the Supreme Court’s decision to allow Texas’s six-week abortion ban to go into effect and as the Court is scheduled to take up Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization on the Mississippi abortion ban later this year.
