WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (D-NV), Congresswoman Michelle Steel (R-CA), and Congressman David Trone (D-MD) introduced the bipartisan Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP) Congressional Charter Act. This legislation will support VAREP in expanding its services available to military and veteran communities, in southern Nevada and beyond, to further sustainable homeownership, financial-literacy education, VA home loan awareness, and economic opportunity generally.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) announced the introduction of bipartisan legislation to fund law enforcement, invest in officer safety and training, and help combat law enforcement staffing shortages. The Invest to Protect Act would provide funding to support specialized officer training, allocations for body cameras, grants for officer recruitment, and resources for officers pursuing education in social work and mental health.

LAS VEGAS – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (D-NV) announced that Nevada will receive nearly $4 million to help expand access to affordable housing through the nation’s Housing Trust Fund. Nevada will be able to use these funds to increase and preserve the supply of affordable rental housing, especially for low-income households.

Michelle Steel (R-CA), and House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) led 22 of their colleagues in introducing the bipartisan, bicameral Solidify Iran Sanctions Act (SISA), to make permanent the sanctions established by the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996. A companion bill was introduced in the Senate by Senators Tim Scott (R-SC), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), and Maggie Hassan (D-NH).

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (D-NV) and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) introduced the Seniors Securing Access to Vital and Essential (SAVE) Prescription Drugs Act. This bipartisan legislation would help low-income seniors and individuals with disabilities access the prescription drugs they need by expanding access to Medicare subsidies. 

WASHINGTON– Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) led the entire Nevada delegation in calling on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to take decisive action and provide additional support for southern Nevada’s public health professionals and health care providers, as the state currently faces the largest outbreak of Candida auris (C. auris) infections in the country.

WASHINGTON– Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (D-NV) joined Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) to introduce the Keep Our Promise to America’s Children and Teachers (PACT) Act. This bicameral legislation would put Congress on a fiscally responsible path to meet its obligation to fully fund Title I and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) on a mandatory basis over the next 10 years.
